“If you’re going to live a rich, meaningful and fulfilled life, the secret is giving more of what you want to receive more of”.
My background as a software engineer consultant from MEST, got me in front of many entrepreneurs. Aside the monies they paid for the solution they sought, they were always so busy to communicate their emotions to those they cared about.
Here’s what inspired me to continue after we started Dough Man Foods. We kept getting orders for doughnuts, not for those who ordered it to eat themselves, but for their loved ones.
The story behind the solution we offer started getting clearer when we noticed that, order after order, was either for a birthday, an anniversary or to tell someone “I LOVE YOU”. Then the light bell in my head went off. “We exist to help people care for those they care about”. Simple!
OUR MISSION
Is to energize entrepreneurs, busy professionals and tertiary students to lead rich, meaningful and fulfilled lives through caring about those they care about.
My team and I started brainstorming (and praying too) to understand what we had gotten ourselves into. It really started shaping up when we noticed Valentine’s Day was one of our busiest (one day I’ll tell you our first Val’s day experience. It was “badder” than disaster, lol).
This is when we knew we were meant to do the “hard thing” others couldn’t: to go the extra mile to help people celebrate life’s moments and make their relationships more exciting and alive.
Life moments come in all forms, both the positives and the dreaded ones too; birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, first day at work or the loss of a family member, “I Miss you”, “I’m sorry”, a miscarriage and everything in between.
What a journey…
I’d love to hear from you about this. Are you scared of showing too much love or care? Are you scared of putting in a ton of work and then people don’t reciprocate? Does that sound like you at all when it comes to showing love?
